John Beech: Director

John joined Orbital Engine Corporation (OEC) in 1987 after holding senior roles in various subsidiaries at Conzinc Rio Tinto Australia (CRA -now RTZ the world's second largest mining house) and the State Energy Commission of Western Australia (SECWA) - the state run electricity and gas utility. John became CFO of Orbital Engine Corporation, and later President of Orbital’s US based Marine Business Unit and General Manager of Orbital’s Australian based Engineering Services Business Unit, and was instrumental in Orbital’s listing on the NYSE. He was a director at Orbital for 10 years. John consults widely to companies helping them commercialise their technologies into global markets using the Guided Innovation process he has developed, with a heavy emphasis on leadership development through TEC (The Executive Connection).

Tom Baskovich: Associate

Tom is the Principal of Dorsolateral Consulting which provides management support related to innovative product development, strategic planning, and process implementation to a wide range of clients. Tom is a mechanical engineer and patent attorney with deep experience in international technology licensing. Past projects involved international licensing of Australian developed technology and securing of Australian Commonwealth grants. Tom was Director of patent and licensing at Orbital Corp. for 16 years and more recently CEO of two technology start-ups, Breakaway Innovations and Segnut.

Dr Rod Houston: Associate

Rod has over 27 years’ experience as an engineer and  business leader in the development and commercialisation of innovative products and processes across the automotive and resources industries. Rod began his career with Orbital Corporation working across senior engineering and executive roles over 20 years including CEO and Managing Director (2005-2008). Since 2008 Rod has worked in a number of senior consulting and executive management roles in the mining and resources industry including executive director and GM at The Simulation Group (TSG) and now CEO at Davies Wear Plates.

Ian Neal: Associate

Ian  was co-founder and Managing Director of Nanyang Ventures, managing funds totalling $140million with investments in 27 high growth private companies, and continues to sit on multiple boards as independent director/chairman. Ian’s focuses on maximising the value of enterprises through his specialization in mentoring, leadership development, strategic planning facilitation, and business optimisation through his business, Management Abroad.

Tim Maclachlan: Associate

After senior executive roles at BASF - the world's largest chemical company - and founding CEO of the Australian subsidiary of the German EMTEC Magnetics Group, Tim founded EQIUM in 2004. He has since become one of Australia’s most experienced executive coaches and mentors, with over 10,000 hours one-on-one with CEOs, MDs and Business Owners across a broad range of industries.

Tony Fitzgerald: Associate

Tony Fitzgerald has over 20 years of experience in senior executive positions managing innovation, product development, project delivery, manufacturing and sales teams. He was a Managing Director, Director and Non-Exec Director of several of the Orbital ASX listed Corporation's businesses and more recently held the position of Managing Director, Australia for the NASDAQ listed Westport Innovations organisation.

Lyn Harding: Associate

Lyn is a highly regarded Fellow CPA and Fellow of AICD with over 20 years experience in the private health care sector and most recently at directorship level with an ASX company. Lyn has been with The Executive Connection (TEC) since 2014 and consults as a chair. Her personal commitment aligns to the mission of TEC "Dedicated to increasing the effectiveness and enhancing the lives of CEOs".

Shane Davies: Associate

Shane Davies is the founder of, and runs, Davies BDM, a digital marketing agency that helps businesses win the work they should be winning. Shane has over 20 years in marketing and business development and has held senior marketing and business development positions in Perth and Sydney. Shane has worked with a client base spanning startups, SME's and enterprise sized clients. He specialises in digital marketing strategy, implementation and inbound marketing.

Stephen O'Keefe: Associate

Stephen's career began in public accounting with Pricewaterhouse Coopers followed by 10 years with The Shell Company of Australia Ltd. As CEO for Kailis Pearling – the 2nd largest pearl producer in Australia, Stephen lead the development in licensed branded pearl sales nationally and internationally and the expansion of the pearling farming operations. Stephen is currently a chair at The Executive Connection and consults on marketing and distribution development.

Kevin Mackmin: Associate

Kevin is the owner of, and business advisor at, Your Financial Controller where he helps business owners and management teams in SME's to ensure they are getting the right financial information and that they understand their numbers to help them run their business more effectively, generating better profits and improved cash flow.

Chris Bates: Associate

Chris Bates is the founder and director at Checkside, a strategic HR consulting firm that also does high level recruitment. Chris is a private business expert with specialisations in succession planning, leadership development and executive recruitment strategies. He previously worked for an international consulting group, which was preceded by a successful career in financial services where he built up and sold significant client bases in both insurance and stockbroking.

Paul Skinner: Associate

Having honed his craft at Ernst & Young, Paul developed a passion for working with clients to help them grow their businesses. Together with Dean Pike, he established Pike & Skinner Chartered Accountants and Business Advisers which was recently merged into PKF Mack, a leading mid-tier accounting firm. Amongst his many qualifications are a Bachelor of Business degree from Curtin University; a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia; a Fellow of the Taxation Institute of Australia and a Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
